Training for the Mablethorpe bike ride is now well underway with around 120 days left until the challenge. On Sunday the team of four riders will be setting out on their first training ride all together. The ride will be around 28 miles on a circular route taking in many parts of Milton Keynes. All the route is off road taking advantage of the fantastic redway network of cycle paths, the River Ouze and Ouzel Valley Park trails and the canal network.
With the beautiful weather over the last week or two in Milton Keynes it would be nice if the weather managed to stay kind to us for the ride on Sunday. However, early weather reports appear to suggest it will most likely be raining. Early meet of around 7.00am so energy drinks will be a necessity.
After the ride we will update this post with some pictures of the training ride and any stories or encounters along the way. So be sure to check back for an update.
This is a previous route we have taken on the training ride and this will be updated with our ride at the weekend. 28 miles seems like a long way, let alone the 80 miles per day we will be doing during the charity bike event.
