The pre charity bike ride meal & live music event was a massive success and raised over £1400 for the Rae Rae Trust. This limited ticket event was for 62 people and all the tickets were sold out quickly and a packed house were looking forward to a Chinese Meal at Voong’s Chinese Restaurant, a raffle, charity auction and live music from the Under Suspicion Blues Brothers Tribute Act.
The event was attended by Rachael with lots of family and friends which really made for a great atmosphere throughout the night. A big thank you goes out to Alfie and his team for providing such a delicious chinese meal with lots of favourite dishes from spare ribs & duck pancakes to beef in black bean sauce, chinese curry and sweet & sour. Looking round at all the tables it was pretty clear everyone enjoyed the food!
After the meal was finished the first of two sets were played by the fantastic Blues Brother Tribute act, Under Suspicion. With an injection of comedy and some classic songs this was a perfect way to start the rest of the evening, MC for the evening Andy Wilson, one of the trustees, was a particular target for the quick wit of Mike & Paul from Under Suspicion for a host of gags. It must be pointed out is not true, Andy really can dance, just a shame we didn’t get it on camera 🙂
Next up on the evenings agenda was the raffle and charity auction. There were some fantastic prizes on offer and we would like to thank everyone that donated prizes for the raffle and auction including MK Rugby Club, Chester Arms in Chicheley, Sands Beauty in Broughton, Sainsbury’s, Booker Cash & Carry, Scott Lamount, Laura Lewis & Steve Knibbs. The raffle was a huge success and there were some very happy winners walking away with the prizes.
The top lot in the auction was a Michael Kors Designer Handbag which fetched over £120 for one lucky guest. However it turned out that Rachael loved the bag, so MC Andy Wilson, asked the auction winner if they would mind Rachael having it if the floor could raise £300, this was agreed and needless to say Rachael is a very happy and proud owner of the handbag. Thanks to everyone that dug deep to make sure Rachael left with the handbag.
The evening was rounded off with another set from Under Suspicion with some classic blues brothers songs. Plus, not forgetting the third member of the under Suspicion act, Amber, who truly stole the show with her singing and dancing to the blues brothers songs. Amber is a lovely little girl of around three years old that enjoyed the singing and dancing so much she even managed her own rendition of the popular Frozen song, Let it Go, supported brilliantly by the Under Suspicion guys. This alone managed to raise an extra £74 from the adoring crowd, so a big thank you to Amber.
The evening was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone that came along and made the event so enjoyable. Your generosity on the night helped us exceed all our expectations for the fund raising event and we hope you all went away with a smile on your face and had a memorable time. With your support we will now be able to reach out to more children with cancer and help them and their families, which is what the Rae Rae Trust is all about.
Thank you again and below are some more images that capture the fun of the night.
