This is young Harrison Germain who is 9 years old and like most 9 year olds he loves gaming but in particular Mario and Minecraft.
The only difference to any other 9 year old is Harrison is fighting cancer and has been since he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in October 2013 after one night of severe leg pain.
Although his cancer was caught early, his response to treatment made him high risk and his parents feared he would have to have a bone marrow transplant.
Thankfully this has not been needed to date and he has managed to continue on the standard treatment path.
Harrison has had to have many short stays in hospital due to high temperatures causing disruption and worry for the whole family none more so than his bi Bro Myles.
In November2014 he contracted Sepsis and spent 48hrs in ICU followed by 2 weeks in hospital this was a very worrying time.
He is now in the maintenance element of his treatment which brings its own problems like insomnia, fatigue, loss of appetite and countless other side effects.
Harrison has oral chemotherapy daily, intravenous chemo every 28 days, steroids 5 days out of every 28 and a lumbar puncture with chemo into the spinal cord every 3 months.
But despite all this he soldiers on and is truly a trooper to his family and proves to us all how tough and resilient our young people are.
Harrisons dream and aspirations are to have the energy again to keep up with his friends and to be able to taste food again.
He would love to ride a horse and play golf and tennis and we at the trust hope he is well enough to do all that soon
We at the Trust was delighted to send Harrison and Myles a couple of game controllers and some vouchers
