Recent Treats And Wishes

We have recently funded two family’s to have 2 days of family fun at Alton Towers.
The first was a brave young man from Staffordshire fighting Neuroblastoma stage 4 cancer. It took 4 months of GP’s saying there was nothing wrong before his parents took him to hospital for a second opinion, and after an x-ray and ultrasound the cancer was found. He has gone through Chemotherapy, stem cell harvest, surgery, return of stem cells and rediotherapy plus 6 months of vitamin A treatment.
so we here at the Rae Rae Trust thought he and his family deserved their special treat, have fun guys
The second was a brave 8 year old Girl from Swadincote who is fighting Wilms tumour. She was initially diagnosed in March 2016 and completed her treatment in the November of the same year ringing the end of treatment bell.
Unfortunately only 1 month later she relapsed and is receiving more intensive treatment but prognosis is unsure at this time.
We felt the whole family deserved this trip to Alton towers to put smiles back on little faces and create precious memories.
We also sent a brave lad from Harrow, fighting Lymphoblastic Leukemia, to Legoland with his family. He was put forward to us by GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital) who thought the family deserved a treat.
He was diagnosed in December 2013 and had chemotherapy to treat his condition, but sadly in June 2015 he relapsed and had to have more intensive chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, which caused horrendous side effects. Despite all of this he relapsed again in 2016 going on to lose his sight in March of this year (2017).
Unfortunately he is now on maintenance treatment and palliative care so we hope they have a great time making precious memories.
