A big thank you for all of you who brought tickets and attended our Swing and Blues Brothers Tribute Night. A small buffet was laid on and every one tucked in, during which raffle tickets and battle of the bands scratch card were sold which went very quickly, thanks to David Hand who offered his help selling the raffle tickets and the scratch card on the evening.
That’s Life was the first of many songs sung by the duo Under Suspicion with a little light comedy sketch with the help of Fred Martin, who was a great sport. Paul and Mike from Under Suspicion took a short break, Paul then came back to auction a large bunny rabbit donated by himself and his partner Jo, raising more money for the trust.
Whilst this was happening the Trust was given a four night stay at a private static caravan at a Haven Holiday Camp in Great Yarmouth. A huge thank you goes to Bob Kent for his very generous donation.
This auction started very slow, then it started to take pace getting up to £210 then from the side lines came £500. As no other bid was given the holiday was sold to Mick and Carol Cusack. A huge thank you to you both for your fantastic donation. The raffle took place, then the draw for the Battle of the Bands scratch card, raising £100 for the trust and a £100 to the winner who, very generously donated it back.
Then came Paul and Mike giving their rendition of the Blues Brothers. This had everyone up dancing and singing. Sadly the Blues Brothers came to an end, but that’s when Jo (Paul partner) started the disco getting people up on the dance floor to finish of the evening.
So far we have raised £1504.00 that will help the trust continue the work putting smiles back on children who are suffering with cancer, but we don’t stop there, we also do the same for their siblings as they also suffer as they do not get the attention they deserve.
I would personally like to thank the other Trustees Mark, Lee and Lester who helped me to put this event on and thank you to Jodie Thornton who kindly kept count of all monies raised throughout the evening.
Thank you to Sainsbury’s, BlackBerry Gym, Moza Indian Restaurant in Newport Pagnell and everyone else who donated a raffle prize.
Again a big thank you to David Hand for his help.
A huge Thank You to Under Suspicion, Paul and Mike as well as Jo for putting on a fabulous night of entertainment.
Thank you to the Sportsmen Rest for allowing us to use their facilities as well as contributing towards the entertainment and your donation to the Trust.
Thank you to all the staff who worked very hard behind the scenes at the Sportsmen Rest.
Finally a big thank you to all that attended the evening supporting the RaeRae Trust.
