Jake Gooden is only 3 years old and has a couple of things going on and his illness is very complicated. He has an underlying immunodeficiency and because of this he now has a EBV driven lymph proliferative disorder which is suggestive of lymphomatoid granulomatosis, which is a rare life threatening condition and is a rare blood /lymph tissue cancer. It has attacked Jake in a bad way and caused numerous tumours in his brain along with bleeding. He has 3 altogether in the brain and they are graded the highest grade there is for his condition, a grade 3, Due to the virus attacking the brain.
Because he has no working immune system he suffered from Pneumonia when he was a few months old in 2014 and has been on weekly immunoglobulin injections to boost his immune system to try and fight off infection since. He was then diagnosed with X Linked Hyper IGM Syndrome. He has unsteady ataxic gait/wobbly walking and unsteadiness and a squint due to this and a tremor in his right arm and hand. He is being admitted in November for a Bone Marrow Transplant and will spend 2-3 months in hospital.
